Shed floors are constructed from 70mm x 45mm treated pine timber, to form a floor frame, which is set with joists at 450 to 500mm centres. Yellow Tongue flooring, is fixed to the frame and joists. The Yellow Tongue is cut, to form a rebate, allowing the shed walls to sit on (and be anchored to), the floor frame and the yellow tongue flooring sits inside the shed walls. The yellow tongue flooring when fixed to the frame and joists sits 70mm off the ground, allowing air to circulate and keep the flooring nice and dry. Once the timber floor is constructed, your shed can assembled and secured to the frame to form a flush and level floor surface.
